Simon Raines was born in London, England in 1823. Simon's father Richard was a captain in the English military while his mother was a maid for the English generals. Simon moved a lot as a child and hated it. Every time he settled down and started to get to know people, his family would have to move again. Simon loved England, but hated moving form town to town.
Then Simon's father was put in charge of the New World colonies. Simon and his family then moved to the New World. Simon didn't mind it, for he didn't have any friends in England and didn't really know any of his family outside his father and mother. Once in the New World, Simon was about 15 years old. Simon's mother, however, didn't make it past a year in the New World, for she died of a illness she picked up out on sea.
Simon's father didn't seemed bothered by this, for he soon got a new wife. Simon didn't like her too much, and by 17, he moved out and started his own farm. Simon, while farming his own land fell in love with a local girl named Sabrina. For a year Simon tried to get her to noticed him, but it wasn't until he took up arms against the native Americans did she notice him.
Simon hated fighting, but as soon as they attacked his farm, Simon took up arms and proved to be a great soldier. A local general noticed his skills, and asked him to become a full time soldier. Simon said no, and married Sabrina. They lived happily at his farm until the American Revolution took place. Simon was then forced to fight again to protect his new family.
Simon quickly became a Sargent and commanded his own forces. Then while his men were stationed on the Canadian boarder, Simon was captured by the English. Simon, now 20 years old, was set free by his father and his farm was left alone by the English who thought they were going to win the war. Simon quickly returned home to find his wife murdered. Simon soon went into a depression and lost everything.
As soon as the American Revolution was won, Simon was asked to rejoin the military. Simon declined and went out into the wilderness. This is where he discovered a band of native Americans who could shape shift into animals. Simon thought this to be amazing and they had told him that there were two worlds, the one of the natural and the one of the supernatural. Simon joined their tribe and lived with them for ten years.
The tribe members wanted him to marry their daughters, but he declined telling them that his heart belonged to someone already. To his surprise they understood. One day, a group of white men appeared. Simon thought they were Americans, but they were English troops left here long ago. They had turned into something not human. The squad of English soldiers were turned into vampires.
The soldiers attacked the tribe killing everyone. Simon tried to fight them, but the tribe leaders told Simon to take the children and run away. Simon, who felt the need to protect the children, did as he was told and ran as far as they could. Simon managed to keep the children safe, and they managed to go to a local town. This town welcomed the children and Simon.
Simon didn't stay long, and soon left the children in the care of a local church hoping that the children wouldn't have their parents powers. Simon wondered back to the Atlantic Coast just in time for the Civil War. Simon was caught in the middle of it. Simon refused to fight, but he did help slaves escape to the north, feeling that everything human and non-human should have equal rights.
Simon, by now, noticed that he wasn't aging at all. He looked the same as he did when he was 26 years old. Simon also noticed that he had never once gotten sick in his whole life. So as soon as the Civil War ended, Simon settled down in New York City and began doing research on the supernatural. He had discovered more then he wanted.
Simon had discovered that the world was in fact split in two; one of natural and one of supernatural. Every event in history could be explained as either natural and supernatural. Simon begun writing down all his findings in journals. He had learned that many wars were started by the supernatural and not waring nations.
Simon lived in New York for a few years, but soon had to move because he didn't age while everyone else did. So he moved south to Florida. This was where he meet some vampires that didn't feed on human blood but animals. Simon noticed that he had started to like the taste of alcohol and he begun drinking. He got addicted to it quickly.
Simon vanished from history however, and banished himself from the world as soon as he started drinking. The reason behind this was because he begun seeing his dead wife, Sabrina. This drove him to the point of insanity.
Simon reappeared in 2009 in Forks, Washington.
