Hail laid in her hospital bed staring at the ceiling. it had been a few hours since she had met Craig at the park and all she could think of was how much she liked his name. she rolled over putting her back to the door and the rest of the room. i justlike the name.. she thought to her self.
it wasn't right. being locked away in a hospital room, trapped, and waiting to die. Hail closed her eyes. she hated her life, she hated her self. she didn't have anyone to love her, her real parents were a myth and the closest thing she actually had to family had abandond her in Forks. they even had the nerve to lie to her about how they had to go for a job opprotunity. which just happen to be in a differant country. Hail closed her eyes and pulled her robot plushie close to her. she was so sweet. a good kid. but no one cared. she took a deep breath and exhaled as someone entered the room.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" The nurse asked as she walked to look at Hail's stats and then the machines. "We worried about you for a few you weren't responding and-"
"I'm tired of being here..."
the nurse paused and looked at hail. "I'm sorry."
"it's not your fault." Hail sighed and closed her eyes. she heard the nurse leave and close the door. she was a lone once again. her eyes closed slowly and she drifted off into a soft sleep. Hail opened her eyes to the sound of someone entering her room she shifted slightly and stayed still. "Hello?" she called out hoping she hadn't lost her mind.

Craig finished his walk, only to stand out side of a hospital. He sighed, running his palm through his hair. It felt weird, standing outside of the kind of place his mother died in. Double checking his chrysanthemum flowers he bought for Hail, he sucked in a breath and stepped inside through the entrance.
It wasn't as bad as the one in New York - in fact, it was much slower. The faint smell of blood and medicine crept up his nose, and that's all it took for Craig to run outside again and make sure no fluid whatsoever escapes his mouth. In a way, he was allergic to hospitals. Or at least it was all in his head like that. he even made a personal vow to himself not to enter one again - but wasn't that broken already? He attempted again, and this time made it all the way front desk, where a skinny brunette smiled at him.
"Hello! How can I help you?" She asked a heavy accent.
Craig sighed once again. "What's the room for Hayley Muse?" He wasn't sure whether to say Hail or Hayley, as the nurse said Hayley but she introduced herself as Hail.
The nurse took a moment to check her clipboard, then a desktop computer. She smiled once again at Craig and said: "She is in ward 501 on the 5th floor. But the nurses are probably-" He was already off. Craig wasn't in the mood for small talk or rejections, he needed to get there. And say sorry, for whatever he did even if he did nothing. He waited patiently to the elevator to open. Once he did, he stepped inside.
He pushed the button floor the fifth floor and waited. Eventually it stopped at the third floor, and a middle aged man dressed in a dark brown suit. It vaguely reminded Craig of the few times he saw his father. The man jerked his head jerked his head toward to the chrysanthemum bouquet Craig was holding and gave a toothy grin.
"Visiting your girlfriend?" He asked.
"She isn't my girlfriend. She's just my friend's friend's sister." It wasn't a good lie, and whether the man detected that or not, he didn't show it. "Oh."
The elevator stopped at floor 4. The man walked out, only to look back once at Craig and gave off another one of his smiles. "Y'know, that's what they all say." He chuckled and walked off before Craig could protest.
--
Ward 501. He made it. Craig grabbed for the doorknob, but sopped and placed it nervously at his side. What would he say? He didn't rehearse it in front of the mirror like some random average guy. Hesitantly, he opened the door and peeked his head in, only to see Hail curiously peeking back. He resisted the urge to pull back his head and run, but instead he gave a small, nervous grin. "Umm... hi..."

It wasn't like she had expected the familiar face to return to her vision but it was a lovely sight. seeing someone who had just met come visit. she actually enjoyed it more then she had dreamed she would. she smiled showing the small child like teeth and their gappiness. "Hey!" she replied rolling over to face him. she sat up only a little but not enough to be considered laying down.
"What brings you here?" she asked wanting to know why he showed up. "Not that i don't want you here, I do! it's just..." Hail trailed off as the machine to the side started to beep faster. Hail's head jerked to the side to look at the machine. she sighed trying to calm her self and then looked at Craig. "I thought i made you mad." she whispered looking at her lap. the blankets were white with the exception of one that just happen to be a fleece blanket of Hello Kitty, and obviously ten times the size of Hail.
Hail stared at the blanket and then looked at Craig. "The reason i asked about your name was because I liked it. Not many people are named Craig, in fact, it's a rather rare name only twenty-two people, famous people are named Craig." Hail looked at Craig and smiled. she was rather nervous and having a hard time covering it up. "Did you know that the name Craig is is derived from a Scots Gaelic or Irish surname meaning "rock"?" she looked at him and then looked away.
she was really bad at socializing that she didn't really know what to say other then spouting facts she had remembered over the years. of course thats were the photo graphic memory came into play.

Craig's eyebrows raised over Hail's spill of intelligence. "Well doesn't that explain a lot... my mom was Irish..." He flinched at the word was, obviously hating the fact that she still didn't live. He wanted to run out and possibly hide from Hail and never visit her again, and maybe if he was lucky, get her out of her mind. All he did was let himself in, sigh, and hold up his bouquet of chrysanthemums. "I- er... got you some 'mums."
"And I'm sorry about the last time we met... I'm just kind of touchy over my mom and stuff. She died back at New York..." The constant beeping of Hail's heart rate machine soon started to get louder and louder when he was with silent. "So....." He asked, digging in the ends of his brain to see some probable conversations. There wasn't really any conversations that seemed interesting without a whole bunch of silence after, so Craig basically came up with: "You said you didn't have a mom... that's really tough. So, where's your dad?" He regretted asking such a thing, as maybe Hail's dad wasn't around too. He looked up with a slightly sympathetic look. "You don't have to answer this if you don't feel like it.

Hail looked at the end of the bed and sighed. "i'm sorry that your mom died." Hail's eyes rested on Craig and and then shifted away. at least he had a mom even if she was dead. Hail sighed and looked at the flowers. she smiled at the idea and how sweet it was. "You got me flowers?" she smiled and then looked at Craig once more. "It's sweet but you didn't have to."
Hail ima gine him saying something like 'oh it's okay i wanted to' or 'true but i figured why not.' she smiled and desided she liked the first one more. her eyes looked around the room and pulled the small table closer to the bed so he could set the flowers on it.
"You said you didn't have a mom... that's really tough. So, where's your dad?"
Hail closed her eyes and then looked at Craig. "I dont have a dad either. i've never had a family actually." Hail smiled as if trying to hide the pain that just wasn't really there. she had realized that she didn't need to feel bad since she never had a family and if you never had something you can't miss it. "I don't mind answering questions. most just assume and leave it at the fact that i'm an orphane and then just feel sorry for me since i live in a hospital." Hail never really saw her self as a sad story, sure she was dying and there was no real way to save her but it didn't really bother her, or did it. sure she was sad that other kids had families to come see them and wish them well. all she had was Dr. Cullen, and he was just doing his job. she glared internally and then looked at craig.
